Vice President, Corporate Secretary and Securities Counsel

Myra Coleman Bierria was appointed vice president, corporate secretary and securities counsel at AGL Resources in March 2008. She is responsible for all corporate governance and securities law compliance and disclosure matters.
Before her promotion to corporate secretary in February 2005, Ms. Bierria was executive director, corporate governance and securities counsel, for the company. She was the lead governance counsel for AGL Resources subsidiary, Atlanta Gas Light, when it was honored with the 2004 Georgia Business Ethics Award.
Prior to joining AGL Resources in 2002, Ms. Bierria was a business and technology attorney at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP in New York, where she specialized in securities offerings, venture capital transactions and mergers and acquisitions.
Ms. Bierria is a member of the New York State Bar. She also is a member of the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, where she serves on the in-house counsel and mentor program planning committees. She is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the Atlanta Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She recently completed a two-year term as an ambassador for the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association.
In 2006, Ms. Bierria received the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s "40 Under 40 Up and Comer Award." Her non-profit activities include membership on the boards of the AGL Resources Inc. Private Foundation, Aid Atlanta Inc. and the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Inc.
She received her law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center and her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
She and her family live in Atlanta.
