Myra Coleman Bierria
Vice President, Corporate Secretary and Securities Counsel

Myra Coleman Bierria was named vice president, corporate secretary and securities counsel, for AGL Resources in March 2008. She is responsible for all corporate governance and securities law compliance and disclosure matters.

Before her promotion to corporate secretary in February 2005, Bierra was executive director, corporate governance and securities counsel, for the company. She was the lead governance counsel for AGL Resources subsidiary, Atlanta Gas Light, when it was honored with the Georgia Business Ethics Award in 2004.

Prior to joining AGL Resources in 2002, she was a business and technology attorney at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP in New York, where she specialized in securities offerings, venture capital transactions and mergers and acquisitions.

Bierra is a member of the New York state bar, and serves on the Georgia State Bar diversity program steering committee. She is a member of the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, where she serves on the in-house counsel and mentor program planning committees. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Association. She recently completed a two-year term as an ambassador for the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association.

A member of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, Bierra recently served as president and is on the advisory committee member for the Southeastern chapter, the Society’s third largest chapter. She is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and sits on the board of the Georgia chapter.

In 2006, Bierra received the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “40 Under 40 Up and Comer Award.” Her non-profit activities include membership on the boards of the AGL Resources Inc. Private Foundation, Aid Atlanta Inc. and The Girl Scout Council of Northwest Georgia Inc.

She received her law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center and her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley.

She and her family live in Atlanta.
