Senior Vice President and Treasurer
Steve Cave has served as treasurer of AGL Resources (NYSE: GAS) since 2010. He was named senior vice president, in 2013. In this capacity, Cave is responsible for the company's treasury and corporate finance functions, including cash management, capital markets activities, bank and rating agency relationships, investor relations and corporate financial planning and analysis. He also oversees the company's merger and acquisition activity and provides support for other company business development and strategic growth initiatives, including deal evaluation, structuring and financing.
Cave joined AGL Resources in 2001 as director of investor relations, where he was responsible for the company's relationships with buy-side and sell-side analysts and institutional portfolio managers. From 2004 to 2005, he served as director of financial and external reporting, responsible for Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and other required regulatory filings. He subsequently was promoted to managing director of finance and investor relations.
Prior to joining AGL Resources, Cave was the U.S. director of finance and investor relations for Powergen Plc, a multinational energy company headquartered in the United Kingdom. He held a similar management role at LG&E Energy Corp., a Fortune 500 energy company in the U.S., prior to its acquisition by Powergen Plc. He also served as the company's primary national and local media spokesperson for several years.
Cave serves on the American Gas Association Finance Committee. He also serves as a vice chair of the membership committee of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. Cave is on the board of directors of 21st Century Leaders, a non-profit organization based in Atlanta. In addition, he is a member of the National Association of Corporate Treasurers, the Association of Financial Professionals and is formerly an officer and board member of the Atlanta chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute.
Cave attended Transylvania University and has a bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville. He also completed graduate coursework in the University of Louisville master's of business administration program.
Cave and his wife live in Atlanta.
