Vice President, Resources Management
James Griffin was named vice president, Resources Management for AGL Resources (NYSE: GAS) in December 2011. He is responsible for forecasting operating workload and developing budgets related to forecasts. He is also accountable for scheduling work and resources for AGL Resources' seven natural gas companies – Atlanta Gas Light, Chattanooga Gas, Elizabethtown Gas, Elkton Gas, Florida City Gas, Nicor Gas and Virginia Natural Gas – ensuring customer and company needs are satisfied in an efficient and effective manner. With 4.5 million utility customers, AGL Resources is the largest natural gas-only distribution company in the United States based on customer count.
Mr. Griffin began his career at Nicor Gas 26 years ago as a meter reader. Most recently, he served as vice president of Operations Administration where he oversaw sourcing, fleet, dispatching and scheduling, business system support, meter reading, damage prevention, operations financial support and accounts payable.
He is a member of the American Gas Association and past Chair of the Utility Customer Field Services Committee. He has also served as Chairman of the Nicor United Way Campaign for three years.
Mr. Griffin holds a bachelor of arts in business from Lewis University and a master's of business administration from Northern Illinois University.
He lives with his wife in Aurora, Ill. and has three children.
