Sequent Energy Management
Marshall Lang is senior vice president, marketing, for Sequent Energy Management. In this role, he is responsible for origination, generation services and producer services teams. Sequent is a top-10 marketer of natural gas in the country and a subsidiary of AGL Resources (NYSE:GAS). Additionally, he is responsible for Compass Energy, AGL Resources' commercial and industrial retail marketer.
With more than 30 years of experience in the regulated and non-regulated areas of the energy industry, Mr. Lang joined Sequent Energy Management in 2002.
Mr. Lang began his natural gas career at Columbia Gas Transmission, which is now part of NiSource Pipelines. While there he led a number of business units, primarily in sales, marketing and customer service. He also held marketing and sales positions at Coastal Gas Company Corp. in Newport News, Va.
Active in the community, Mr. Lang serves on the board of directors of the Houston Gulf Coast Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which honored him as "Director of the Year" in 2011. He is also on the board of the University of Houston's Global Energy Management Institute.
Mr. Lang earned his undergraduate degree from Marietta College.
He lives in Houston with his wife and two sons.
