Charles H. "Pete" McTier served as trustee and former president of the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation, the Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation, the Lettie Pate Evans Foundation and the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation from 1988 until his retirement in 2006. The Atlanta-based foundations make up one of the largest foundation groups in the Southeast. Mr. McTier joined the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation Inc. in 1971 as a secretary and served as the foundation's secretary and treasurer from 1977 to 1987, as vice president, secretary and treasurer from 1987 to 1988, and as president from 1988 to 2006. Prior to that, he held several administrative positions at Emory University.
Mr. McTier currently serves as a director of Coca-Cola FEMSA, S.A. de C.V and as an advisory board member of SunTrust Bank Atlanta.
Mr. McTier earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Emory University in 1961.
Mr. McTier, 72, has been a director of AGL Resources since November 2006.
