Vice President and Associate General Counsel (Distribution Operations)
David E. Slovensky was named vice president and associate general counsel (Distribution Operations) for AGL Resources (NYSE: GAS) in October 2009. He manages a legal staff responsible for business, employment, and major tort litigation, labor negotiations, and governmental and internal compliance investigations.
Mr. Slovensky, who joined AGL Resources in 2004 as chief litigation counsel, also manages the company's corporate security and information security departments. The corporate security department supervises the physical security of the company's facilities and assets, investigates security and compliance issues, and conducts liaison and training activities with applicable fire, police and security-related governmental agencies. The information security department designs policies, procedures and controls to protect the company's information assets and implements effective records management initiatives.
Mr. Slovensky is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the Chief Litigation Officer Forum and the Chief Litigation Counsel Association.
Mr. Slovensky received the Baccalaureus Artium et Scientiae degree from the University of South Carolina in 1992 and his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1995, where he was a member of the Michigan Journal of International Law.
Mr. Slovensky and his wife live in Atlanta with their three children.
