AGL Resources announces several organizational changes

ATLANTA-- January 15, 2009 -- AGL Resources (NYSE: ATG) today announced several organizational changes.

Ralph Cleveland has been promoted to executive vice president, Engineering and Operations. In this role, Cleveland assumes responsibility for Pivotal Energy Development, an AGL Resources business unit that invests in related natural gas assets including salt cavern storage. He will continue to oversee all engineering, asset development and supply chain activities of the company.  Dana Grams, president of Pivotal, now reports to Cleveland.

Hank Linginfelter, executive vice president, Utility Operations, has assumed responsibility for Governmental and Regulatory Affairs and will continue to oversee all operations of the company’s six utilities. Bryan Batson, senior vice president, External Affairs, has assumed the additional duties of governmental affairs and is named senior vice president, Governmental and Regulatory Affairs and now reports to Linginfelter. Kevin Madden, executive vice president, External Affairs, announced his retirement in November, and Lindsay Thomas, senior vice president, Governmental Relations, announced his retirement in January. Jim Kibler, vice president, Governmental Affairs, replaces Thomas and will be responsible for state and federal legislative activities for the company.  Kibler and Scott Carter, vice president, Regulatory Affairs, now report to Batson.

Melanie Platt, senior vice president, Human Resources and president of the AGL Resources Foundation, has assumed responsibility for Corporate Communications. Donna Peeples, vice president, Sales and Marketing, will assume the role of vice president, Corporate Communications and Chief Marketing Officer. She will report to Platt on Corporate Communications and continue to report to Linginfelter on Marketing and Sales.  Keith Poston, managing director, Corporate Communications, will report to Peeples. Platt will continue to oversee all Human Resources and AGL Resources Foundation matters.
