September 12, 2005 - AGL Resources was recognized as having the Best Energy Website when the company received the 2005 WebAward for Outstanding Achievement in Website Development from the Web Marketing Association. This is yet another award for the Corporate Communications Department, headed by Sally Eggleston.

Now in its 9th year, the WebAwards is the premier annual award competition that judges website development against an ever increasing internet standard and against peer sites within individual industries. It is a true honor that the AGL Resources site was recognized and given the highest award placement by this association.

The AGL Resources Corporate Communications / Creative Services team led by Bobby Grubic, creative director, in partnership with Macquarium Intelligent Communications launched the new www.aglresources.com site at the beginning of the year. Since then, the site has been interactively enhanced and maintained in-house. Other contributions on this project include interactive annual reports from Thinkhouse and back end support from Northridge Systems. Additional real-time investor relations content feed and webcasts are provided by Thomson.

The AGL Resources award winning website has a clean design with easy navigation and an edge over others in the industry in its use of the latest interactive technologies. Some of these interactive features include; a historic overview of the Company’s 150 years of customer service, a map of all the AGL Resources’ facilities in the United States, a comprehensive tool for investor and media relations featuring up-to-the-minute news, streaming audio/video of AGL Resources speeches and presentations given by officers, and many other user friendly features.

The Web Marketing Association (WMA), sponsor of the WebAwards, was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for internet marketing and corporate web development. Staffed by volunteers, this organization is made up of internet marketing, advertising, public relations and design professionals in 22 countries who share an interest in improving the quality of advertising, marketing and promotion used to attract visitors to corporate websites.

The 2005 competition included 2100 entries from more than 33 countries around the globe, making the WebAwards truly a global competition.
